Oxford shoegaze rock group, Ride, best known for tunes “Leave Them All Behind,” “Vapour Trail,” “Seagull,” “Dreams Burn Down,” and “Chelsea Girl,” among others got back together in 2014 and have been playing gigs ever since.
What first looked like a reunion with periodic gigs has gotten more serious, as the 90s band has played America’s Coachella this April, Spain increasingly-popular Primavera Sound in May, and will continue on the festival circuit across Europe (even in Japan too!) throughout the summer months before heading to the East Coast of the United States for an early-fall tour.

Once things are wrapped up in the “new world,” Ride return to the UK for three just-announced concerts. They’ll play the O2 Academy Leeds on 11th October, the O2 Academy Liverpool on 15th October, and the O2 Academy Newcastle on 18th October.
The Mark Gardener-led, Andy Bell-inspired group currently made up Laurence Colbert and Steve Quaralt released four records in a span of six years in the early-to-mid 90s, including Nowhere (1990), Going Blank Again (1992), Carnival of Light (1994), and Tarantula (1996), the middle two of which reached the fifth spot on UK charts, before their eventual breakup due to creative differences.

Ride, a British shoegazing band, formed in 1988 in Oxford, England, and officially broke up in 1996. During that time they received much critical acclaim, and although this never translated into the chart and financial success that they aimed for, for a short while it seemed that the band could prove themselves as defying the fate that befell lesser ‘shoegazer’ bands.
